Hi Oli -

Thanks so much for your thoughts and for the link to your excellent article. (Sorry it took so long to approve your comment. I am on a family vacation at the moment.) I like your focus on simplicity, particularly as applied in the walking practice you described. I recommend everyone take a few minutes and read Oli's article:
http://www.peacethroughmindfulness.com.au/how-to-practise-mindfulness/192

Also, I've just published a post on my fun/hobby blog, The Best Free Training. It has a bunch of links to many resources that you might want to share with your readers. Here's the title/link:
Yearly Vacation? Why Not a Daily Vacation? — Learn to Meditate!

Wishing you peace & clarity,

What a great article. The analogy of a search engine is great as many people end up trying to get rid of thoughts, whilst mindfulness is concerned with observing them instead. This is very thorough, well researched and evidence based, so thanks for all your hardwork.

I used some similar analogies in a recent article on Simplicity:

Check it out if you like, and any feedback would be appreciated,

Cheers,

Thanks for the feedback. However, I just tested all the links and hover text using 3 different browsers (IE, Firefox, and Google Chrome) and they are working fine. So... can you provide more info on your particular concern? Thanks. - Mike G.

The navigation menu in your website seems to be a little messed up - each and every link has the same title, despite the fact that they certainly appear to be connecting towards the correct place.

Hi Rhonda

Thanks for your comment.

In Oprah's interview with Eckhart Tolle (A New Earth: Are You Ready to be Awakened? [Eckhart Tolle & Oprah] -- http://www.bestfreetraining.net/?p=247 ), Oprah talks about her minds propensity to "play the fool" and start bouncing around all over the place when she first started meditating. But eventually, with practice, you can get used to that "surreal" position of witnessing the witness and make the witness part of your life. And that's a good thing!

I most definitely bounce around in my mind....and when I do take the step back to gain the bigger perspective, I realize how trivial it all is. Have you ever witnessed the witness? Now that's a surreal position to be in. :0)
